October 14, 2020
2020 has been a crazy year: from Kobe Bryant and his daughter fatal helicopter accident, coronavirus, to protesting. What’s next — aliens? I mean honestly, it took me months to publish this post.
Friday, June 12th, a 27-year old African American man was shot and killed in a Wendy’s parking lot as he fled for his life. For those that are reading, you must know that this isn’t something new. African Americans have endured the pains of justice for quite some time now. 401 years to be exact.
Weeks prior to the death of Rayshard Brooks, there was another African American male that was unarmed and murdered by a police in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Breonna Taylor, an African American woman slain in her. home from police who stated they entered the incorrect home.
Being an Atlanta native, 27-years old, an African American male, and a neighbor of this exact Wendy’s, I felt the frustrations fuming from my peers, some of which have been a victim of injustice. With all of the built frustrations, people began taking matters into their own hands and Wendy’s felt its full wrath.
Once a restaurant, now a pile of scrap, ash, and sorrow.
